Mahalapye at a glance
Mahalapye is a rapidly-developing village located in the Central District of Botswana, situated along the A1 highway ca. 200km north of Gaborone, and therefore benefits from a high level of passing trade travelling from Gaborone to the city of Francistown and other towns/ villages in the northern parts of the country. The village, widely considered a town, benefits from good infrastructure, extensive developments and is home to institutions such as the Botswana Railways Headquarters, health facilities such as Mahalapye District Hospital, primary and secondary schools, banking services, postal services, large shopping malls such as Watershed Mall offering a variety of local and international retailers and restaurants, hotels and lodges and commercial and industrial business centres, serving an extensive variety of residential properties and large-scale residential developments such as BHC's Mahalapye-Moko development.
